Arguably the best part about planning a wedding, or any event for that matter, is seeing all the little details come together to create an ambiance for everyone to enjoy. From little items that spruce up a cake table to elaborate vignettes of carefully selected décor pieces, there is no end to the ways you can incorporate a ‘look and feel’ for your big day. As part of our wedding planning reviews this month, we’ve put together a list of our favourite décor rental companies to help with all your wedding day details.

To get started creating your ‘look and feel’ vision, spend time perusing your favourite wedding sites and blogs for inspiration (here’s a list of top wedding planning blogs by the team at Vogue Paris). Compile photos of styles you like and those you do not. Share photos with potential décor suppliers to communicate the look you’re after, ask if they have styled similar wedding themes before and find out if they have any items in their inventory to support your vision. Taking a DIY approach and renting existing items is often the most cost effective option. Or opt to work with a custom event design company who will help you create the outcome you’ve always dreamed of from the ground up. Designers will have an existing inventory of items and they will also source and purchase additional items if your budget allows for it. The right décor partner will take your vision and run with it by coming up with many more ideas that fit within the budget you’ve given them. A major pressure reliever if you’re not the details type.

To start you off down the path of finding the right décor rental company, here’s an overview of our go-to partners (yes, they can all be booked through

Sage Advice

Don’t get bogged down with all the details. Ask for help. If you’re working with a tight budget but still want help from a décor supplier, ask the rentals team to help you pick a couple items to create an Instagram worthy dessert buffet or simply stunning signing table. Don’t be afraid to put your requirements and budget parameters on the table straight out the gates. Suppliers appreciate a planner who knows what they need and what they’re willing to spend. If your budget isn’t something they can work with, then better to know up front before any work is done. Find unique décor companies and more on Eventsage. Sign-up and plan your event – it’s FREE!
